Australian Cattle Dog    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Honey with Thao at Lucky Ones Ranch This sweet girl is appropriately named Honey. She was labeled as aggressive in the shelter, but we all know dogs show us who they truly are when they are safe. Now in foster, this 10 year old Cattledog girl has told us she just wants to take it slow, get to know and trust you. Then, she appreciates plenty of attention. Honey is a good girl. She gets along with other dogs and cats. She is potty trained. She is an easy keeper. She does prefer that new folks give her space to warm up before she turns on the Honey charm. She also asks that you take it slow around her collar. Someone must have jerked her ... (Read More)around by the collar at one time, so she can be nervous. Honey is ideal for someone who wants all of the devotion and smarts of a Cattledog but doesn't want a dog they have to wear out daily. Honey loves to take walks and go on car rides. She likes to hang out with her person. She is a gem for the right home. We will not place Honey with young kids. She says she is just not that into the activity that comes with toddlers. Honey is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. We do not ship our dogs. She is available for a meeting and adoption in the San Francisco Bay Area (Vacaville). A home visit and vet reference are required. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-04-18-00469Jazzee (female)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Jazzee is a Border Collie/Great Pyrenees mix who was born in October 2017. She has most of the energy of a Border Collie with the fuzziness of a Great Pyr. If her adopter takes it slow with her, they will be rewarded with a big, cuddly, active girl. Jazzee is initially shy. I was able to make friends by not being pushy, hanging out, and feeding her. She warms up quickly with that kind of attention and then becomes a goofy girl. She knows to sit if she wants a treat. She is crate trained and mostly house trained. Jazzee is going to to be mid-large, we think in the 60-70 pound range. She is good with other dogs and likes to play. She also ... (Read More)very much attaches to her person. A home with older, quiet kids willalso be fine. She isn't at all mean. Young, active kids may make her scared. Jazzee is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. We do not ship our dogs. Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Arthritis

Meet Kitty...a fantastic dog who is very loved. Circumstances have her person not able to give Kitty all she needs, so she has asked for help to find Kitty the right new home. Kitty is just over 5 years old. She is an Australian Shepherd/Cattledogs/Husky mix. She weighs about 80 pounds and, with a bit of exercise will slim down just a bit. Kitty is just about perfect. Truly. She comes with more training than most dogs have. Kitty knows sit, stay, and down. She will come around to the left or right, on command. She also knows to give her paw and to give kisses. Kitty is delightful in the house. She is house trained. She is also nice when ... (Read More)out and about. She is lovely on leash...but she also find squirrels interesting. She is an excellent passenger in the car and likes to go out and about with her person. %A0Kitty is quite personable. She loves people of all ages and genders. She likes to jump up on people to greet them and does give kisses. She loves to get her rear scratched and lives attention, though she isn't a cuddler. She is polite with other dogs when out and about. She likes to play with other dogs who respect her interest in being the number one dog. Playing chase with other dogs at the dog park is fun for her. When at home, she can be bossy with other dogs. She thinks she is the queen bee...and she is! Her new home will need to just remind her that she shouldn't be bossy. As for cats, she is interested but hasn't directly interacted with one. Kitty is an absolute gem of a dog. She is very intelligent and loves people. The person who gets to adopt Kitty will be very lucky indeed. Kitty is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. We do not ship our dogs. She is available for a meeting and adoption in SoCal. A home visit and vet reference are required. %A0 (Less)

Personality: Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Hip Dysplasia

This sweet girl is Rosie. She is a 3 year old Cattledog mix who weighs about 45 pounds. She and her pups came into rescue and it's now time for this nice momma to get her own home. If you like the looks and size of a Cattledog but don't want the energy commitment, then Rosie is your gal. Rosie is such a sweetheart. She is lovely with people of all ages and genders. She talks in excitement when her people come home. She is also good with dogs of all sizes. She likes to play, too. Based on a short interaction with some kittens, we think she will be good with cats. She does prefer to eat separately from her dog friends. She was underfed in ... (Read More)her prior situation and can guard her food a bit from other dogs. It's so easy to manage, though. Just feed separately. Rosie is already house trained and behaves herself when home alone. Rosie will need someone to go slow with leash training and car rides. Those things are new to her, so patience and kindness will be needed to help her see how fun walks can be. She is starting to get some hip dysplasia, so she won't be a dog who can go long distances. She will be just fine for closer to home activities. Mostly, Rosie is a love. With Rosie around, you will never be alone! She wants to be with you always. She loves to cuddle, too. She is the kind of dog that will melt into your heart.     This gorgeous blue boy is Cochise. He is a 2-3 yeas old Cattledog who weighs about 40 pounds. Cochise is special needs, but that's not such a big deal for a smart breed like this. Cochise has already learned some hand signals for basic obedience commands. Cochise is house trained, too. Cochise is a friendly guy. He is good with men, women, and kids. As is usual with Cattledogs, he prefers a polite introduction when meeting new people. He is also good with other dogs. That said, it's important that any dogs in his new home are polite. Rescue Me ID: 16-08-15-00693Lucky (male)

Australian Cattle Dog    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Named Lucky because he truly is, this guy is a 5 year old Australian Cattledog who weighs about 27 pounds. Lucky is the kind of dog whose love you earn and, when you do, he is your best friend forever. He has had a rough time of it and a good samaritan stepped in to help him. Lucky, indeed. Now, he is looking for a home who doesn't mind taking it just a bit slow at first. Simple little things make all of the difference to him, such as talking to him before coming up to him, so he knows you are coming his way. Gentle leadership will help him relax and become even more wonderful than he already is. His foster mom wishes that she had fewer ... (Read More)dogs, so she could keep him. Lucky is a typically Cattledog in that he sometimes wonders about bigger dogs. He likes small dogs and would be fine with another medium-larger dog who isn't interested in being number one. He is also uninterested in the cat in the house, so should be fine with cats. Lucky is a smart guy. He learned his name in under a week. We don't know what his name was before he came to us. Also, he is house trained. He knows his basic commands: sit, stay, quiet, and come. He is initially excited to go on an adventure, but stops pulling on the leash after just a bit. He will walk right at your side, ready for whatever fun is in store. He does love car rides. He thinks that he would like to help drive by sitting on your lap. So, he is learning to stay on his side and will benefit from a dog seatbelt or crate in the car. Mostly, Lucky is a guy who wants a committed relationship. He has a cute smile, missing one tooth. When happy, he will come up and put his head on your chest. If you lay down on the floor, he is likely to come up and lay curled up against your arm. Once he loves, he loves deeply. Lucky is neutered and is current on his rabies vaccination. He will be up to date on his other vaccinations and microchipped before adoption. Lucky is ready to meet potential adopters in Southern CA. Out of area adopters will be happily referred to our favorite rescue partners. (Less)
