This handsome guy is Carrot, a Cattledog mix boy. He was born around June 1, 2016 and should be a medium-sized boy since his mom is a bit small for a Cattledog. Carrot is a sweet boy. He loves people and animals, all alike. Carrot has all the right stuff and now needs a family to love him. He will want a family who enjoys being active, wants to have a dog as a partner, and looks forward to teaching a young guy the rules of the road. Rescue Me ID: 16-08-31-00596Tabitha (female)

Australian Cattle Dog    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Ball crazy and just what the ACD nut loves, this gorgeous blue girl is Tabitha. She is about 6 years old and ready to play fetch. She looks smart, and she is! She already knows sit, wait, kennel, load up (get in the car), and outside. She can catch treats in the air, too. Tabitha is good in the car. However, she does pull on a leash. Apparently she is eager for an adventure, so she will need some leash work. Tabitha is good with other dogs, assuming she is given a proper introduction. She will eventually play with dogs she really likes. That said, overly rambunctious dogs aren't her favorites. She is also okay with cats, given a light ... (Read More)correction. Tabitha is polite in the house. She is house trained and crate trained. She is also polite with most people, though she may be a bit too intense for small kids. Tabitha is insistent and focused. She isn't the kind of dog that is okay for a first time Cattledog owner. She loves a solid routine and plenty of mental and physical exercise. If you have a bird problem, the will take care of that, too! She needs an owner who likes a real partnership with a dog and knows how to provide positive guidance. Also, she prefers an owner who doesn't mind her grumbling. She is just a bit talkative by nature! Tabitha weighs about 45 pounds. She is spayed, current on her vaccinations, microchipped, and ready for her forever home. She is available for adoption in Southern CA. A home visit and vet reference are required. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-08-17-00635Okra (female)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Those amazing ears belong to super cute Okra! She turned 11 weeks old as of 8/17/2016 and should be a medium-sized dog. Her mom is a purebred red Cattledog and, based on how these puppies are turning out, there is a possibility that their daddy was a Cattledog, too. That said, Okra is all that a Cattledog person loves. She is whip smart. She is super cute. She is a bit devilish. What's not to love? Okra is initially sensitive when new people show up. She cries out of you sneak up on her! As is usual for a Cattledog, she likes to know what is going on around her. So, slower introductions are better for Okra. With a nice introduction, she is ... (Read More)good with men, women, and even quieter kids. Okra is a silly girl. She loves to play with other dogs. Even though she is a pretty little girl, she is rough and tumble, too! She loves a good game with her Cattledog siblings and her mom. With people, she already enjoys a rousing game of fetch. She would love to continue that in her new home. Okra is all that a Cattledog lover enjoys in the breed. She would love a home who knows what to do with a smart, fun Cattledog pup and is interested in doing some training to help Okra be all that she can be. Okra is current on her vaccinations, microchipped, and is scheduled for her spay in order to be ready for her forever home. She is available for adoption in Southern CA. A home visit and vet reference are required. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-08-15-00693Lucky (male)

Australian Cattle Dog    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Named Lucky because he truly is, this guy is a 5 year old Australian Cattledog who weighs about 27 pounds. Lucky is the kind of dog whose love you earn and, when you do, he is your best friend forever. He has had a rough time of it and a good samaritan stepped in to help him. Lucky, indeed. Now, he is looking for a home who doesn't mind taking it just a bit slow at first. Simple little things make all of the difference to him, such as talking to him before coming up to him, so he knows you are coming his way. Gentle leadership will help him relax and become even more wonderful than he already is. His foster mom wishes that she had fewer ... (Read More)dogs, so she could keep him. Lucky is a typically Cattledog in that he sometimes wonders about bigger dogs. He likes small dogs and would be fine with another medium-larger dog who isn't interested in being number one. Lucky is a smart guy. He learned his name in under a week. We don't know what his name was before he came to us. Also, he is house trained. He knows his basic commands: sit, stay, quiet, and come. He is initially excited to go on an adventure, but stops pulling on the leash after just a bit. He will walk right at your side, ready for whatever fun is in store. He does love car rides. He thinks that he would like to help drive by sitting on your lap. So, he is learning to stay on his side and will benefit from a dog seatbelt or crate in the car. Mostly, Lucky is a guy who wants a committed relationship. He has a cute smile, missing one tooth. When happy, he will come up and put his head on your chest. If you lay down on the floor, he is likely to come up and lay curled up against your arm. Once he loves, he loves deeply. Lucky is neutered and is current on his rabies vaccination. He will be up to date on his other vaccinations and microchipped before adoption. Lucky is ready to meet potential adopters in Southern CA. Out of area adopters will be happily referred to our favorite rescue partners. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-07-19-00592Magnus (male)

Australian Cattle Dog    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Magnus is a real Australian Cattledog ready for a real home, a home where his handsome, rugged good looks, full tail, and Cattledog quirks are appreciated. Magnus is 3 years old and weighs about 45 pounds. He found himself in jail and was pulled to safety just in the nick of time. Fortunately, he found himself in a Cattledog foster home where his charming personality has started to blossom. Magnus isn't just a handsome boy. He is smart, too. He knows sit, wait, shake, and is perfecting down. As a bit of a renaissance man, he is ready and able to learn more. Magnus is also polite in the house. He is house trained. He is good with most ... (Read More)dogs, but thinks of small dogs as play things, so only medium or large dogs for this guy. He has been cautious around the cat, but what smart guy wouldn't be? Magnus appreciates adventure. He is good in the car and walks politely on leash. He would appreciate a good hike or something else equally outdoorsy. He shows interest in the ball and thinks that a good game of tug is fantastic. Magnus isn't a total tough guy. He is a great cuddler. He loves to snuggle and even sings a few tunes from time to time. However, he is definitely a Cattledog, so no small kids. He would appreciate a home who knows likes a few quirks. He needs a home who knows how to manage his prey drive. He also needs work on leash reactivity, so a home that would enjoy training and possible engaging a trainer would be ideal. Magnus is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He is ready for a forever home in Southern California. A home visit and vet reference are required to adopt Magnus. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-05-06-00310Minnie Pearl (female)

Australian Cattle Dog    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Miss Minnie Pearl, a real pearl of a girl. She is a 6 year old pixie, weighing 29 pounds, and full of love with her long, cattledog tail. Don't let her smaller stature fool you. She is ready for an active home. Minnie is looking for a person who appreciates her love of fetching and will join in the fun. In fact, one could call Minnie a toy hoarder. She takes very good care of them and does not pull the stuffing out of her toys like some dogs do. She has been known to carry a toy with her around the house, holding it in her mouth as she walks along. Minnie Pearl currently lives with other dogs and likes them. Like all ladies, she ... (Read More)simply prefers a polite introduction upon meeting. With a few dogs, she will even play. A submissive or neutral dog would be a lovely companion for her. Miss Minnie Pearl is a very polite girl. She knows sit, wait, and off. She also walks nicely on a leash and rides politely in the car. She is ready for a person who wants to go places and take her along. Minnis is a sponge when it comes to learning. She is very interested in learning and would really blossom with additional training or even someone who wants to take her to flyball or agility. Minnie really focuses on her person. She is ready to make a deep bond and be someone's very best pal. That said, with her activity level, Minnie is not a fit for a home with kids under junior high age. Minnie is a lovely house pal. She is house trained and, if you ask, will go into her crate where she remains quietly until it is time to get out. Minnie Pearl is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to meet potential adopters in Southern CA. She is being fostered in the Inland Empire. Out of area adopters will be happily referred to local rescues. A home visit and vet reference are required. (Less)
